4 Hacks To INSTANTLY Feel Motivated On The Days You Don’t Feel Like It!

So guys, I woke up today in a negative headspace if you will. I wasn’t feeling super motivated, I felt lethargic and in a rut.

I’m writing about this because I make sense of the thoughts in my head when I write about them, but more than anything because this is what documenting the journey really is…

In the entrepreneurship space everyone is quick to post their wins and the good days, few ever post the days when they don’t feel like it or begin to wonder what the point is.

With this blog post, I want to turn something negative into a positive. I will go through the things weighing me down and what I can learn to move forward and perhaps you can probably learn a couple things yourself.

Write Goals Down And Get An Accountability Partner If You Want Things To Get Done.

One of the first things that started to get me down is the fact that I haven’t been posting as often as I should because of writers block and writing final exams.

Those are excuses, so as you know I’m trying to find the real root cause and to take action to combat it…

One thing I noticed is that the weeks that I posted about three times; I set a goal to post that many times, I wrote it down, and I had an accountability partner to check on me to make sure I was posting.

So if I am to post more often I have to follow the system which I found that works for me.

**Also, I noticed I write and flow better when I write from my phone. So I just downloaded the WordPress app and I’m typing this up from my phone!

Never Wake Up Without A Purpose.

Another thing I’ve learned from this experience is to never wake up without a purpose. In fact some people say, if you wake up with no purpose for the day you should just go back to bed.

And there is some sense to this…

Here’s what I mean. Usually, before bed, I write out all the things I want to achieve the next day.

The effect is when I get up, I know what I need to do for the day to become a success. I get out of bed and jump right into executing!

Today that I woke up without doing this the night before, and the result = I feel kind of in a rut.

So that’s one thing I’m learning from this. That routine is not just a productivity hack but essential if I’m going to protect my motivation and stay positive!

Remind Yourself Why You Started In The First Place.

Next thing, as soon as I noticed I wasn’t feeling super motivated, I decided I had to take action right away to make sure I was feeling motivated again.

I do this because I know I have to be in it for the long haul if I’m going to see tangible results!

My favorite method for getting motivated is to watch the videos or read the articles that got me excited about entrepreneurship in the first place…

So far, this always works because it takes me back to the initial epiphany I had and reminds me what I am trying to do is possible.

Another thing is to take a look at the list of the pains I am running away from.

I don’t care who you are or where you’re from, I believe there’s only three reasons any human makes a choice…

To run away from pain, To run Towards Pleasure and/or To Increase perceived status.

For me, choosing to become an entrepreneur and start a business next year is to run away from pain. More on that in another blog.

So what I did is make a list of pains that I am running away from. Things I don’t want to keep experiencing the rest of my life, things I feel entrepreneurship would be a vehicle away from and I go back to this list every time I wonder is it even worth it to keep learning all this marketing and ads stuff.

And as you can guess, Every time I look at my list of pains, the answer in my head is a resounding, “Hell Yeah It Is!”

Because frankly, the pains or stress of learning to run a facebook ads and marketing agency pale in comparison to the pains I am running away from.

That is how I use my struggles to my advantage! and how you can too.

Find Running Mates.

In a previous blog post which you can find here, I wrote about the 33% formula that successful people use to spend their time…

It comes down to this; the first 33% of their time is spent with people ahead of them. People they want to be like. Through in person meetups, attending masterminds, working for them or consuming their consent.

The other 33% of their time is spent is spent with people they’re helping to get on their level. I try to do this by posting on my blog and just one off coaching and mentorships I have going on with some of my peers.

The last 33% is spent with running mates. People who are where they are right now and also trying to get to where they need to be.

Cause here’s the thing, mentors and other people you look up to won’t be there at your beck and call. Matter of fact, you could go a couple weeks without hearing back from them due to the projects they’re working on.

That’s kinda where I’m at right now.

To combat this I decided to join facebook groups with other digital marketers and start engaging.

Not only that, but by fate one of my friends reached out to me, he’s also taken a digital marketing course and wants to collaborate and see what we can make happen.

In the future, I’ll even start a Facebook Group for young adults in entrepreneurship so we can all encourage each other.

Why It’s Not Your Fault That You Do Not Execute And What You Can Do To Change That Today!

Hey guys, Kelechi here. I am on a journey to time freedom, money freedom and location freedom by the time I am 25 (5 years and 6 months from now). That is the vision and this blog is my means of documenting the journey, the ups and downs as well as the things I am learning along the way.

I am going to get there by starting my own profitable digital marketing agency, building and eventually monetizing my personal brand and  investing in real estate. I am pretty sure that along the way there might be other avenues of passive income that I will learn such as investing in stocks and bond, e-commerce and affiliate marketing. But, the aforementioned 3 are my predominant areas of focus.

The first checkpoint or landmark if you will on my plan is to start a digital marketing agency. In order to do this, I have been watching YouTube videos on the topic, reading books on sales and marketing (read to the end to get my recommendations), taking courses on digital marketing and interning with a friend who has his own digital marketing agencies as well as writing this blog.

There is nothing super special about me. I do not think I’m the only one with such lofty goals and dreams. Matter of fact, if you’re reading this, I hope you have your big goals and dreams as well that you’re working towards.

And That’s what I want to touch on in this blog post. The idea of Execution.

They say, the richest place in the world is the graveyard, why? Because it’s filled with ideas and goals that could have probably made the owners millions as well as made society better off as a result. But for some reason or the other, they never executed on those ideas.

One of the biggest plagues and I speak from experience, to execution is to be stuck in the information gathering phase. This phase sucks because you’re learning all this cool stuff about your thing/goal/plan, but you’re not spending as much time doing/implementing as you are learning. Not only that but also you’re learning things that are irrelevant to taking the first step.

Let me explain…

Using myself as an example. I’m broke but I do not always want to be this way. I have a goal to get Money Freedom by the time I am 25 and I decide one of the skills I must learn is that of digital marketing. I start to spend a good chunk of my time watching YouTube videos on how to start a digital marketing agency…

Now, stay with me…

Say I watch the first couple videos. I have two choices right…either go implement what I just watched or Watch the Up next video that YouTube Suggests. And this is the part that gets a lot of us. Say I choose to not implement but rather to watch more videos, I am just entering the vicious cycle of the information gathering phase.

The ability to execute is what separates the entrepreneur from the want-preneur.

If you find that you’re stuck in the information gathering phase it is not your fault. The internet is set up in a way to bombard you with information upon information. Check this. As soon as you’re done with a YouTube video what does YouTube do, It suggests 2 other videos that are by the same content creator that you just watched.

As if that were not harmful enough, the sidebar is filled is with 10 other videos that YouTube is absolutely convinced that you need to watch since you just watched that one video.

It’s even more tricky because the way the brain works, it is convinced that you’re solving that problem just by looking it up.

So how do you deal with this information overload and get out of the information gathering stage??

Introducing, what Stephen Larsen likes to call Selective Ignorance or Selective Learning. 

This is the idea that you only learn what you need to know in other to take that first step. So back to using myself as an example, I’ve just decided that starting a digital marketing agency is the key then I should only watch how to start a digital marketing agency videos, or videos in a digital marketing agency course. I don’t need to distract myself consuming content that don’t have any thing to do with taking that first step.

And right after that, I ought to implement and then learn what I need to execute on the the next step.

What is that one thing you have been putting off that you can execute this week?

Another Solution to executing is something that I just started thinking of. I don’t even know what I will call it but it goes like this. I was just thinking, what if for every 20 minutes I spent reading or consuming course content, I spent the next 40 minutes executing what it was that I just learned.

I don’t have much to say on this one since I just now thought about it. But here is how I want to apply it in my life. I want you to think of ways you can do the same.

I try to wake up at 5:00am, I like to read a book or two and then meditate for 10 minutes and then go work out. I haven’t been consistent with waking up at 5:00am so that is one goal I am setting for this coming week.

So now what if instead of meditating right after reading those two books, I meditated before, read for 20 minutes, watched course content for 20 minutes and then spent the next hour and 20 minutes implementing One. What I just learned from the book or at least sharing it, and Two, the homework from the course.

I am going to try it out this week and I will have to let you know how it goes.

Now For Some Updates.

I’ve been reading The Way Of The Wolf by Jordan Belfort. I am down to the last chapter and I would recommend 10/10. It’s a great book by one of the best salesman on earth teaching the things he does that makes him such a great salesman. One of the biggest takeaways for me from this book is that we need to enter every sales encounter with certainty, courage, clarity and confidence.

I’ve learned some really cool stuff about marketing. For example offers versus products. You always want to create an offer instead of just a product. A product is the thing. An offer is all the things you bundle around the one thing you want people to buy to make it sexy enough for them to buy. You always want to create an irresistible offer. More on this to come.

Working on a new funnel for a client. I can’t say much about it, but I am done with the sales pages, and right now coming up with the irresistible offer for the up-sells. It should be good to go in the next week and then we’ll drive traffic to it(my favorite part.) I’ll let you know the results.

What Everyone Can Learn From My Experience Launching My First Sales Funnel (Must Read Before Launching Funnel or Shopify Store) and First Client??

Hey guys, Kelechi here, and in my last blog post which you can check out here, I mentioned that I was working on my sales funnel (I was selling gold chains which I was dropshipping from suppliers in China) which I wanted to launch, drive traffic too and then hopefully make a couple hundred bucks. Hang tight and I would be telling you how it went and the things I learned in the process.

So I launched my sales funnel Friday morning at around 11:30am. I had stayed up the night before trying to dot my “i’s” and cross my “t’s”. Making sure that the little things that needed to be fixed, were fixed.

I was at work when my influencer shoutouts went live and I was besides myself with excitement. I was pretty sure it was only a matter of time before my phone started going “ka-chings” from all the stripe payments of my new customers. I couldn’t wait to make some money so I could show my classmates see, it’s real, see this entrepreneurship thing works!

An hour went by and I thought you know a couple hours from now my phone would start buzzing. I started making excuses. Yeah my customers are probably just at work and they haven’t seen the influencer ads I put up. Give them some more time I thought…

Then 2, 3 hours went by and then I started thinking you know. They’re probably just not going to buy. I decided to enjoy the little wins instead, I launched my first funnel like I said I would, that means I can do the things I set my mind to do. I got it out there, that means I can go back and tweak it and make it work.

I remembered in my last post I said I would tell you all how it goes. So regardless of the fact that I didn’t make any sells, I’d like to turn this into a WIN for you, my reader, so if ever you’re at a point where you’re about to launch an online sales funnel or online store maybe you can learn from my experience and make some tweaks to yours to make yours a little more successful.

Start reaching out to influencers at least a week in advance and shoot for 100.

After you build and launch your funnel or store, the next step is getting your customers to show up. They are referred to as Traffic. There are a bunch of ways to go about getting traffic. Facebook ads and Influencer shoutouts are some of the easiest ways to go about it though, especially if you are short on time.

The latter, influencer shoutouts, is best if you’re short on cash. I fall into that category so I decided to reach out to influencers. I reached out to about 30 something influencers about two days before I launched my funnel. And only 5 of them responded. Out of those 5 I was only able to reach an agreement with 2 of them. They had total of 37k combined followers on IG so I thought I was going to be fine.

In hindsight, I should have reached out to more influencers. I didn’t get anywhere close to 100 views on my page which is the least I should be shooting for so I can properly analyze how good my funnel is doing…

My mentor suggests I reach out to a 100 influencers next time. The reason being not all of them would respond to you. Not that they’re mean, but sometimes they have so many people reaching out to them, that your message just goes to a long list of people trying to get their attention and do business with them…

Also pro tip, send both “dms” and emails. It would increase your chances of being noticed and getting across to the influencer and being taken more seriously. Reaching out a week before your launch allows for any delays in hearing back from them.

You learn by DOING not by thinking about it or watching youtube videos. 

If you ever wanted to start an online business, you’ve probably googled, “How to make money online” or maybe searched for it on Youtube. This is great. It helps to see that what you are wanting to do is possible, that there are people like you succeeding and that you aren’t weird for wanting to do that.

Here’s the thing though, because of the wealth of information and content on the internet, it is very easy to be sucked into a vacuum of videos, tutorials, vlogs and what not that have nothing to do with starting. People get stuck watching videos and looking for answers to every single objection that might arise instead of simply starting…

It’s going to be uncomfortable and borderline scary but embrace it!

From experience, I know throwing yourself in uncomfortable situations is the only way for you to ever get good at that stuff. Just get started! You will learn as you go. This is something Stephen Larsen calls “Selective Learning”. Only learn what you need to know for the very next step… 

This last weekend, right before I launched my funnel I didn’t know how to launch it. I knew how to build it though, but launching as in making it go live, buying a domain name, adding your products to the software integrating a payment gateway and designing the swipe up ads were all foreign to me. In my head I’d assumed that when the time came, my mentor Mason, would hold my hand and we’d figure it out.

Nothing could be further from the truth! When I thought I needed him most, he let me be uncomfortable. He was busy working on his own funnels and so I had to go figure it out by myself.

Trust me on this: Nothing compares to the feelings of confidence and certainty you get from figuring something that you thought was once really difficult!

The next thing is…

Set a Hard Deadline and Tell People about it. 

While working on this funnel, my biggest fear was not that I wouldn’t make any money from it, it was actually that I wouldn’t launch it. See somehow I knew one key to being successful in this funnel game and online business is to take that first step! To get my first one out of the way or first failure if you will.

So how I made sure that I did launch it was to one,  set a hard deadline. I told my self come rain or shine I would launch my funnel Friday and then the second thing is to tell people about it. I told my siblings, my accountability partner, posted it on my blog and the influencers I reached out to.

I made it so that I had to get it done and live by Friday and it worked for me. One thing this really helped with is that it made me only focus on the things, that really really mattered. If it was not going to help me get my funnel up and running I didn’t bother with it. So it’s something I would recommend. And not just in the funnel game but this is something you can apply in life as well.

Are there things you’ve been putting off that you want to get done?? Set a goal to do it, set a hard deadline and then tell people about it! If you still don’t get it done after doing this then it’s probably not that important to you and you shouldn’t be worrying about it anyway.

I know I did not make money from my funnel this weekend like I wanted, but I don’t want you to feel bad because I’ve got some good news!

Today, at the agency, Mason got a referral from one of our clients and decided the agency couldn’t take him on but I could as a personal client. Mason put in a good word for me and I am going to be meeting with him tomorrow. If the meeting goes well, I would have my very first client and can get paid.

I am excited but to be honest I am also nervous and a little uncomfortable. I have never managed a whole client’s account just by myself. So this is a first but it is in the right direction. I’m looking forward to the positive stress and growth that will come as a result. I will let you know how it goes.

Finding Balance As An Entrepreneur + Top Secret Life Update!

**I wrote this over the weekend on Saturday 12/1/18  but only getting around to posting now because I had something more pressing to post on Monday.**

Right off the bat, I want to apologize for not posting since Wednesday. I’m trying to get to posting every other day. The thing is work has been kind of crazy. Not even work work but internship work. It’s good though because I am learning things I never thought I’d have business learning. One of the craziest things I learned this week was photoshop but wait…I digress.

What sparked the idea for this post was a conversation with Lorenzo my gym buddy and one of my closest friends. We were working out Saturday and he said, “so you mean to tell me, that you haven’t been to the gym since Tuesday the last time you went with me.”

“Damn, has it really been that long.” It had.

I felt instant remorse. If I’m going to get my weight up,  a major desire of mine, ( I’m usually 155 lbs but I checked and I just lost 5pounds smh) it is not going to be done by skipping gym days.

I looked back at how I spent my week to figure out what went wrong.

Wednesday, right after classes – worked in the lab till 5 and then we had to leave to go to a networking meetup with other marketing that ended at 9pm. We got home at 10pm that night.

Thursday, right after classses – worked till late. Got home around 10pm

Friday, worked till 6pm when there was nothing else left, then I got home, hung out with my sister for little bit and then went to play soccer at the training center I usually go to on the weekends. So I guess Friday was a little bit of exercise.

As I was feeling remorseful, the words of my favorite professor came to mind. And what I want you take away from this posts.

“Balance is not achieved in one day.” It is achieved over a span of time.

This is so true because in entrepreneurship there would be days where you would have to work for hours unending Sometimes as is the case with me, I get ingrained in the work and forget where the time flies. The key is that when you look back on a month or a couple months you can say, okay I see some balance here.

Don’t try to achieve balance in a day because it can be difficult. it might leave you doing only a half-assed job in each aspect of your life.

But maybe today you say I’m going to get all this work done and tomorrow I’ll take a break and relax or if I get this done in the next couple days I am not touching work this weekend and I’ll focus on my relationships. That is more feasible. That is more balanced.

Life Update:

As of Wednesday 12/5/18 I am almost done making my sales funnel. The idea was using a 14 day free trial of click funnels, set up a drop-shipping sales site and make just enough profit to cover the cost of click funnels for the first month.

Sounds pretty simple but here I am with 4 days left and I’m scared as shit. I am kind of a perfectionist so these last couple days I’ve been tweaking and worrying and tweaking trying to make the pages look professional and coming up with a sales message.

This is the first time I am ever doing anything like this. Needless to say, I have cold feet. But tonight I am going to push really hard and try to make sure that the funnel is ready for launch Friday at noon.

In hindsight, what I would do differently is make sure that I have all the pictures ready, and all the copy ready before I start the 14 week free trial period. (hint for any of you looking to drop ship using a shopify , click funnels or any other Ecommerce free trial period. )

My Running Style and What it Teaches me About Myself.

I’m pretty fast…If i do say so myself, haha. At my high school, being fast was pretty much the norm so I didn’t really notice it all the time. Now however, when I play soccer for example, like when I really play and decide not to hold back…people always say,  “man, you’re quick” and I’m like I know. 

Looking back to the first time I realized how fast I was I am reminded of one particular memory. I think it was when i was about 5 years old. It was a Monday morning In my Nigerian household. We were done with family devotion and prayer..my dad was out to work already and my siblings and I were sitting around the dining table with our lunch boxes out while our mum prepared our school lunch for that day.

Our home was filled with the aroma of fried plantains. My favorite snack at the time and to date. For my western friends reading if you haven’t had friend planarians then you have not lived! 

My mom needed some spices from the pantry and wanted me to go get them. So, she asked me to go get them and I took off…I raced to the pantry and back and she was so impressed with my quickness that she gave me some out of the ones she’d made already.

My five year old self was overjoyed. Funny now I think about it, I was convinced it was the shoes.

Why this story about running and speed??

Probably because for the first time I noticed similarities between my attitude towards running and other areas of my life.

I say that cause I know myself…I know I’m much more suited for short distances than long distances. I love the quick burst of acceleration and the energy and then coming to the finish line quickly.

When I play soccer if care is not taken I tend to do too much in the beginning and burn out towards the end of the match. I have seen the same thing in religion and sometimes in my school work.

When it comes to the front end grunt work I try to be the hardest worker and push myself so hard. Usually right after mid-semester I’m getting tired and could care less the outcome. Maybe you’ve experienced this yeah?

That’s why one of my biggest fears learning about marketing, entrepreneurship and personal branding is, “what If I carry this pattern and bring it into this space?” What if I burn out and don’t reach my goals? Like how scary would that be?

I’m starting to notice how subconsciously I have been trying to make safe guards against that by keeping my dad (who’s also a coach and friend) updated with the things i’m doing and my plans so he can keep me accountable and also by writing these blog posts.

More than that though, I need to be reminded constantly that entrepreneurship, the path to achieving anything and just life in general is a marathon and not a sprint.

And I doubt I am to only one who deals with this. If you’ve ever felt burnout after working on something you want to achieve for a while great, this post is for you.

We must do what we can to preserve momentum and stay the course. Some people do it through established morning and evening routines, others through scheduled rest and relaxation and one thing I’ve found that is helping me right now is to pause, take a step back and revisit the things that inspired me to get started on this journey.

Because not only is it a marathon and not a sprint. But how you finish is just as important if not more important than how you start.

P.S I mentioned in a previous blog post that I wanted to start meditating. Well, I’ve been meditating in the morning when I wake up lol. Sometimes I feel great and other times I’m like, “hmm I don’t know how to feel”… but you know its alright I’ll just keep pushing.

The 4 Ways Any Beginner Entrepreneur Can Start A Business In 30 Days To A Year… even if You’ve Never Ran A Business Before!

Hey fam! What’s good??

In this blog post, I dive into the 4 main ways through which anyone can start a business in. Now, I am not telling you what business model to go into, although I feel you could try your hand at any of these and it could work for you!

For the longest time, I’ve been focused on how can I make more money? How can I get money?? How do I get to a bag!? At any given moment, this could be what I was thinking about, if I weren’t already thinking about my family, sports or girls.

In the last couple months though, I’ve been noticing a switch. Nothing crazy, but a gradual, steady shift of thoughts from how can I make more Money to How can I provide value to the marketplace. 

Am I saying one kind of thinking is better than the other?? Not really. I still think it’s important to think about money and how to make money. It definitely is a great starting point, that’s for sure!

However, from hanging out with entrepreneurs and wanna be entrepreneurs, from reading books and attending seminars. I’ve discovered one secret… shhh…

Money Chases After Value!

Like the market is begging for value…

There are buyers literally wallet in hand, looking for the next big idea or a product that can scratch an itch, take away their pain or bring them pleasure.

The challenge then, is figuring out what is valuable to the people you want money from!

I started this blog post talking about value, because each of the 4 ways I am about to reveal are all based on value! So think about this as 4 ways or business models that can be used to provide value to the market so you can get paid.

So…Here they are.

  1. Create and Deliver a quality product to someone. 
  2. Create and or Deliver a quality service to someone. 
  3. Make money for someone else at a discount. 
  4. Become a middle man between the provider of value and the recipient. 

The first two are pretty self explanatory. The last two are a little tricky so I will touch on them a little bit.

Make Money For Someone Else at a discount: 

This is the model that most consulting services and marketing agencies are based on and one model that I am becoming endeared too. Think of it like this, If I have a skill or technical know-how say to run facebook ads or generate sales but this other person or business doesn’t. If I am able to make $5k for that business because I applied my technical knowledge they would have no problem paying me for it.

Depending on how good a negotiator you are, you could probably get paid close to 50% of the money you make for that business.

For this model to work, you would have to learn a skill that is in needed by business but one that not everyone has.

Here are some examples, because I love you my readers so much.

Some of the most important skills for a business are in the areas of Marketing, Sales and Closing. These can further be broken down into lead generation, driving traffic, running ads, creating content, cold calling, door to door sales…

Learn any of these skills. Use it to Provide a business some monetary results. And charge a fee less than the amount you made for them and you’d get paid. Do this enough times and you’ll be making bank. Put some structure and continuity around it and you have a business!!

Become a middle man between the provider of value and the recipient:

Uber. Facebook. Amazon. AirBnB.

Very different industries, very different playing fields but two things they all have in common…

They are all GIANTS in their respective industries and they are all MIDDLEMEN.

Uber is the world’s largest taxi company yet they own no vehicles. Facebook is the world’s most popular media company yet they create no content. Amazon(whose owner is the richest man in the world by the way) is the biggest retailer but they own no inventory and AirBnB is the largest accommodation provider in the world but they own no real estate.

That is the magic of being a middleman. If you can link someone who needs something to someone else who has what they need and is willing to give it you can make money.

That space between the person who needs and the person who haves is where you come in. And that is also where you can get paid.

SO here’s my challenge to you all.

Instead of just thinking how can I make money, think, how can I provide value. In particular, how can I provide a quality product or service, make money for someone at a discount or be a middleman between what people want and the people who have it and I bet you, you’ll get closer to what you want 😉

P.S Life Update: I built another funnel for a client today. We’d already had a funnel built for them but it wasn’t generating enough leads and so Mason thought, in a last ditch effort that I built a new one. For this funnel I modeled one of the leading businesses in this client’s industry and I was amazed by how good it looked when I was done and the amount of time it took for me to build it. I used a technique called wire-framing! I can’t wait to see how this funnel performs.

4 Ways You Can Start Rapidly Implementing TODAY!! To Avoid being the 90% Who Do Not Take Action!

Hey all, Kelechi here and in my last blog post, which you can check out here, I revealed the ONE THING all successful students of online courses have in common. Because of how valuable that info is I figured, why not write a whole blog post about it.

And so, here we are. Today, I am giving out 4 hacks that I am currently using to rapidly implement the the things I am learning.

I first got curious about this when I found out that Rob Kiyosaki’s book is a bestseller which has sold over 32 million copies. 32 million! But then I thought, well, how come that since its publication, there haven’t been that many people who are quitting the rate race and becoming business/owners and investors like he preaches.

It was then, that I realized this truth. For every self help message, or book or course out there; Only a small percentage of people anywhere from (1-10), actually take action. Majority of people reading, go through the whole thing and then do nothing about it.

I promised myself there and then, that I would always take action. That simple decision, has changed the way I read these books, listen to presentations and even watch video tutorials. And I’m certain that as I keep taking action and rapidly implementing the things I learn, it would be the reason I am successful.

What about You??

Well, I already know that you are smarter than most people. Otherwise, why would you be reading this blog. That is also why I am willing to share these hacks. Because I’m sure you’ll make the best use of it!

So my 4 Hacks!

  • when reading books, only highlight the actionable points. Things that you can go out and start doing right away.
  • same thing about taking notes on presentations. don’t take notes about how you feel or how profound that statement was. take notes on how you can implement it in your life. and then do it!
  • When watching a video tutorial, pause the video and go do what was said then come back to the video. The same goes for If something was said that you don’t understand. Pause, go look it up, and then push play again. 
  • Have an accountability partner. whose job is simply to keep you accountable, and make sure you are doing those things you underlined and said you would do.

This is by no means an exhaustive list. These are simply some things I have started doing.

P.S I tried meditating when I woke up today. It was a simple exercise for 5 minutes where I focused on my breathing. Every now and then I found myself getting distracted by thoughts but, I decided I would not panic, I’d simply observe those thoughts go in an out of my head. Simply because I felt panicking would defeat the whole purpose of meditation don’t you think so!?

P.P.S Yesterday, I thought, what if I stopped using stock photography and started using my own pictures for this blog. wouldn’t that be something?

Writing My Origin Story: Where I Am Now, Where I am Trying To Get To and What I Am Doing To Get There Pt. 2

Hey! Kelechi here. Hope thanksgiving was great for you. It was nice for me to unwind for a little bit and hang out with family. In today’s post, I’ll be completing the second half of my origin story and testing out a new format for my blog posts. Keep reading till the end and I’ll reveal the ONE THING all successful students of online courses have in common and the secret 33% formula which ALL successful people use to allocate their time. The day I got accepted to college, I told my parents, My goal is to graduate with a business so I don’t have to work for anybody. Somehow, I lost sight of that goal and spent the last two years of college, struggling in engineering and learning to work for somebody else. Now I have three years to go, and i’m taking a leap of faith and spending the next three years of college, learning to start and grow my one-day million dollar business. The question is how will I as an international student navigate the dos and donts of my visa status and do it without venture capital funding, going into debt or going against the law. Completely from scratch. With no previous experience. This blog is here to give you the answer. Origin Story Continued

So Mason and I found a time that worked for the both of us and we had lunch. Over lunched he introduced me to the idea of sales funnels, kinda like websites, but cleaner and more profitable. He shared with me a little bit about his background in e-commerce and how he currently specializes in building sales funnels for companies looking to 10X their sales.

He shared some audiobooks and presentations with me, which I consumed pretty quickly. The more I read, the more resources he gave me. Until the point where he invited me to intern with his Marketing Agency so I can get started and get some more in depth experience.

It’s crazy, that one class was an answer to prayer. The last couple months before that I’ve been wishing for a mentor and just by being in class and contributing I started a conversation with a classmate whom I am now learning a lot of skills from.

Now, here is the path that I have kind of mapped out for myself.

But before that, My Big Crazy Goal, so this way you have an idea where I am trying to get to. I am obsessed with freedom and living life on my own terms. I am trying to achieve Time Freedom, Money Freedom and Location Freedom by the time I am 25! That just means the freedom to do what I want with my time, and be where I want when I want, without money getting in the way.

At the time of writing, I am 19 so basically I have 5 years and 6 months to achieve this.

Why do I want to do this??

I spent the bulk of the last blog post describing the pain of being a broke college student. That is not something I want to keep experiencing. I also don’t want that for my sisters or cousins. It was also a goal I set to graduate college with a business.

Even more importantly, My parents sacrificed a lot for me to be in the position where I am right now. In college, getting an education and learning skills that could be used to generate income in the future. It’s only right that I make the most of the opportunities I have been given.

How Am I going to Do This??

So this is the idea right now. Finish college and get my degree, while doing that Get into e-commerce, launch a couple successful funnels and start an online store. In a year to two from now, I hope to use the skills I learn from running an online store and interning with Mason’s Agency to help businesses drive traffic, generate leads and sales, and charge a fee for that. Then, I will use the next two years to grow my platform and monetize my personal brand (speaking of which follow my instagram @kelechiochulo) so I can make money doing affiliate marketing and possibly coaching and after that real estate.

Okay So Why I am I writing this??

If you know me personally, you know I can be tightlipped at times. For the longest time, my motto was don’t talk about, be about it. And while there’s times and places for that, most successful entrepreneurs are pretty open with their goals, because that way it keeps them accountable. That plus it’s an assignment from my sales funnel course. It’s kinda like how the greats in sports, Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan usually called their shots before they made it.

So I hope you all can keep me accountable.

So there you have it. A brief, kind of all over the place run down of where I am now, where I am going and what I will do to get there.

The Dope Bonuses I promised to Share.

Rapid Implementation. Yeah, RAPID IMPLEMENTATION. This is the one thing all successful students of online courses or mentorship programs have in common. That simply means quickly doing what was mentioned. So for example, you’re reading a book and or watching a video recording and your teacher says to do a particular thing. You pause it. Do that thing that was mentioned. And then play the video to continue.

Rapid Implementation makes sure you’re constantly taking actions. and prevents you from being like 90% who read the books or take the courses and think, “cool story” but never do anything about it.

Now The 33% formula…

It’s simply this. 33% (or a third) of your time should be spent with people who are where you are trying to go, or have what you want, or maybe just earn more money than you.

The next 33% of your time should be spent with people on the same level as you. But not just any people, people who are actively working to get to where you want to be.

The last 33% of your time should be spent with people you’re ahead of. Who are trying to get to your level. You become a mentor or coach to them.

This is how the most successful people spend their time and this is how I am actively trying to structure the time I spend with people. You should do the same.

The One Secret To Make MORE Money Than You Are Making Right Now So You Can GET PAID What You Feel You Are Worth

Hey guys! What’s good? What’s really good?? Here’s something I’m excited about, my copy of Expert Secrets by Russell Brunson finally arrived in the mail! I spent close to an hour reading from it before writing this post and it was bliss.

Excuse the super-eye catchy headline btw…one of my mentors has me practicing how to come up with headlines. A useful skill in marketing, sales copy and ad copy.

All that aside. I do have an interesting secret I recently discovered, that I would be sharing in this blog post…

This secret, trick or hack, whatever you would like to call it, is something though simple, not very easy. And if followed to a T, would help you start getting paid more or at least what you feel you deserve.

Because, lets be frank…

How many of us feel like we are making enough money…I know I don’t.

How many of us feel like we are worth more money than we are currently getting paid…I know I feel that way every time I show up to work lol.

So yeah keep reading and I’ll explain this hack and I have an added bonus but only for those who keep reading till the end. Those who read the whole thing, would find a list I’ve curated of steps given by Rob Kiyosaki on how to make Money.

That being said, let’s get straight to it!

First, understand the economic principle of scarcity. The idea is that as scarcity increases, the value of that thing increases as well. The more available or less scarce something or entity is, the less its value.

This is not only true about products but its also true in relationships, people, anything you can think of but for the purposes of this blog post we’ll dwell on how it applies to one thing. Your skills!

So this is to say, the more scarce your skill set is, the higher the perceived value of that skill set is in society.

Why is that important?

That brings me to my second point, society expresses value, by attaching a price tag to a thing. While this does not apply to relationships it applies a lot to products and skill sets.

Think about it…

There’s a reason iPhones cost more than the regular phone. Or just branded products in particular. Because the supplier is the only person you can purchase that item from. If anyone and their dog could make an iPhone in the bedrooms, it wouldn’t cost as much. It’s about scarcity!

Or think about bitcoin. If you’re familiar with bitcoin, you probably heard about how a single bitcoin is worth around $6k. Wanna know why? There’s a finite amount of bitcoin available in the world. No new bitcoins are being made, in other words; fixed in supply, scarcity, up goes the value.

The same thing goes for how much you make right now. 

The amount of money you are getting paid, is directly correlated to how scarce your skill is in society.

Minimum wage is minimum wage because they’re literally a billion other people  (as long as they are willing to work) with the skills to be able to do the work! Literally no barrier to entry! Not scarce at all.

Doctors are paid as much as they are paid because you just don’t fine people around with the technical know how to be doctors. It’s a pretty scarce skill.

So is the answer become a doctor? Heck nah. Unless of course that’s your passion.

The secret to getting paid more than you are already being paid right now is to simply learn a more valuable skill!

But how do you know how valuable a skill is? How scarce is it?

There are many ways to learn a more valuable skill. From enrolling in bootcamps, to taking online courses, to watching tutorial videos on youtube, from going and getting a degree, to hanging out and working with the people who already have said skill.

If you want to get paid more, you just need to get a better paying skill. It’s just that simple.

The key to getting good a skill, would be to immerse yourself in that skill or environment and not quitting until at least a year.

P.P.S Here are some interesting things I learned today.

  • Most if not all successful entrepreneurs have a habit of meditating as they start their day. You already know your boy is going to learn to meditate. I’ll keep you posted.
  • I played around with Canva and photo editing today. I never thought I’d need to know that skill, but it’s something I will have to get good at, or at least learn fairly well, if I am to become a good funnel builder.
  • Learnt some really cool stuff about building a platform and a following which I want to apply.
